TAIWAN DESIRES MSSIDC TO ACT AS THEIR REPRESENTATIVE

A High Level delegation from Taiwan led by Dr. Joseph Y Chou, Director General, EPZA along with Mr. Chang representative of EPZA Mumbai and their colleagues visited MSSIDC and had a high level discussion with the officials including the MSSIDC Chairman Shri Ranjit Kamble, and MD Dr. Vijay Satbir Singh, IAS.  They were assisted by Shri A. R Kamble, Chief (Exp), Shri V. H Mulwad, Chief (Sec/Legal) & Shri V. D Pandhare, Chief (F&A).  

The Chairman Shri Ranjit Kamble and Dr. Vijay Satbir Singh, MD of the Corporation gave them information about the MSSIDC

Taiwani counterpart represented by Dr. Joseph Y. Chou, Director General (DG), Economic Processing Zone Administration (EPZA) giving the background of EPZA informed that export processing zone was set up way back in 1966 at Taiwan basically catering  the needs for export of manufactured goods, agro products & it is considered to be duty free zone.  EPZA  is set up  on 192 hectare of land and will be fully occupied in the next 2 / 3 years.  It will create one lac job opportunity. The turn over will be around 10 billion US$. it is equivalent to 7.5% GDP of China. MSSIDC & EPZA can join hands in respect of direct export with EPZA of Spare parts, components, consumer goods.  He further declared that they have decided to designate the MSSIDC as their representative agency in

Maharashtra to expand their manufacturing & trade activities here.  This will eventually give a boost to export from India besides in future generating employment and  EPZA will also assist MSSIDC for exports of Indian goods to US through Taiwan.  It will assist and help the Corporation for the promotional activities for increasing the exports.  The Modalities can be worked out for EPZA & MSSIDC, to act as joint venture partners for which MOU can also signed.  He further stated that opportunities received from US will be shared with India through MSSIDC by Taiwan.

After the detailed high level discussion as above, on behalf of MSSIDC  special mementos  were presented  by Shri Ranjit Kamble, Chairman MSSIDC to the Trade delegation which participated  in  the discussion &   followed  by lunch.

The Officials of MSSIDC including the Chairman Shri Ranjit Kamble and M.D. Dr. Vijay Satbir Singh assured all cooperation & help to the delegation in their endeavor to participate in the economic development of the State.
