Description of stores: a) Cast Iron Detachable Joints (CID Joints) with Mark as per IS :8794/1988 (First Revision ) for use with Asbestos Cement Pressure Pipes. b) MSSIDC ,however ,reserves the right to purchase CID Joints as per IS :8794/1988 (first Revision) spe4cification with third party inspection from Govt. Inspection Agency ,at the cost of the tenderers. c) Cast Iron Detachable Joints comprises Cast Iron Center Collar and two flanges together with Rubber Rings. The assembly is bolted together. The Joints are intended to resist the end thrust and it is essential to adequate anchor end caps and bends. For blots and nuts to be used for these joints should be as per IS :1363 (parts3 )/1984 . For rubber rings to be used for the joints should be of synthetic rubber (SDR) conforming to IS :9382-1985 and IS :10292 (part I )/1982 amended from time to time. d) CID Joints should be suitable for AC pressure Pipes to avoid leakage. e) After inspection ,each part of the joints shall be coated as specified in IS :8794/1988(First Revision).

| Sampling and Testing :
Testing & sampling of CID Joints shall be carried out as per the provision made in IS :8794/1988 ( First Revision ).

| Reservation of Item :
As per Govt. policy , CID Joints is reserved for purchase from SSI units from Maharashtra.
